RETRAIN - Training Network Renewable and Energy Efficiency Technologies in Buildings
The project aim on one hand is to evaluate and adapt current trainings in the field of biomass, solar thermal energy, photovoltaic, heat pumps and ventilation and on the other hand to define new potential trainings in case of further demand. This shall be a fundamental basis to prevent the threat of the absence of professionals and to increase the quality of already converted projects.
REal - The laboratory for Integrated Regional Renewable Energy Systems
In the REal project, a holistic, scalable and user-friendly concept was created, whereby sector-coupled, municipal energy systems with 100% renewable energy can be implemented, considering all necessary aspects from planning to operation, reducing design costs and accelerating an Austria-wide implementation.
RF-Suitcase - Generic RF-Suitcase Core
So called Radio Frequency Suitcases (RF-suitcases) are required for every spacecraft, in order to assure compatibility of the spacecraft and every groundstation delivering support to the mission. An RF-suitcase contains a simplified, yet representative configuration of the satellite flight hardware in order to make these tests representative.
RIFIDAS – Rapid In-Field IDentification of Addictive Substances
Development of a handheld-tool for quick assessment and classification of THC- or CBD-Cannabis by police officers.
RIO - Resilience in Online Trade
The project "Resilience in Online Trade" (RIO), funded by the Austrian security research program KIRAS 2021, builds on the success of Austrians AI-based fake shop detection projects. The goal of RIO is to develop a modular, scalable, and easily expandable Open-Source platform for AI-based risk assessment services, methods for exposing related fraudulent instances (clusters) and fraud prevention on online marketplaces, as well as to realize a minimally invasive app for the real-time mobile protection against online fraud in the e-commerce sector.
RISKMIN - Risk minimization along the value-added chain of plants to the colouring pigments
RISKMIN is a project for the mitigation of risks along the supply chain of plant raw material to the provision of plant dyestuff. Considering the measures concerning risk mitigation, a business plan for a plant dyestuff manufacturer for the effective realization of the business idea was created.
RITA
The study aimed at clarifying the dispute on potential health hazards associated with delivering electric discharges to incapacitate subjects, in particular whether Taser weapon use might be lethal, less-lethal or non-lethal
RKD - Solution for the generation and distribution of cryptographic keys based on radio channel properties
The world's first solution for RKD (Radio-signal Key Distribution) at level TRL 7 for short distances is being developed and demonstrated.
ROADS to Health: Decision support for the pandemic management of the future
ROADS develops foundations for optimised risk and crisis management for future pandemics/epidemics from an overall social perspective
ROBOtic 3D-Mapping, Orientation and Localization for Subsurface Emergency Applications
The aim of ROBO-MOLE is to increase safety for emergency services and affected civilians during operations in tunnels and other underground structures through the detection and identification of hazardous substances and automatic situation map creation, and by enabling an efficient operational sequence
ROBxTASK - Cloud platform for vendor-independent exchange of robot control tasks and processes
ROBxTASK will enable the easy transfer of robotic applications between different target processes using social robotics and industrial robotics.
RONCALLI - Real time traffic information
The RONCALLI principle is based on linking centrally available information with current vehicle data. Key components from RONCALLI are GPS-positioning (later Galileo) and traffic relevant information from a central server which communicates with amobile device (PDA) over a GPRS connection. The permanent availability of positioning signals from satellites and efficient mobile radio connections form the central theme of the project.
ROPA - Radar Optical Piloted Aircraft
In order to ensure increased safety in flight, ROPA's research work is dedicated to the investigation and data fusion of various optical, infrared and radar sensor methods and procedures. The focus is on the identification of potential conflicts and strategies for collision avoidance as well as the integration and evaluation of the technology in an aircraft according to the EASA CS23 category.
ROUTE - Cryptography for the Post-Quantum Era
The project aims to provide an overview of the state of the art in post-quantum secure cryptography. The scheme will be classified on the basis of their security guarantees and practical aspects for their application for long-term secure data storage and communication.
RPOD - Real-Time Precise Orbit Determination
The present activity supports RSA’s on-going GNSS receiver product development and aims at establishing real-time navigation algorithms, which enable the RSA receiver to reach a navigation performance in the range of one meter.
RSB - Risk Management under Simultaneous Threats
The goal of the project is the development of a method for risk management in communication networks within or among critical infrastructures for several security goals that explicitly takes interdependencies into account
RST Reloaded - Flexibilisation of the urban power supply system by adapting the existing ripple control system
"RST reloaded" utilises existing ripple control technology (RST) to activate flexible loads in a targeted manner to benefit the grid and thus create capacities for more renewable energy in urban electricity grids. The aim is to analyse technical potential and user acceptance in equal measure and validate them in an implementation. The approach is scalable, legally compliant and transferable to other municipal utilities.
RT-PPP - Development of a Real-time PPP Processing Facility
The overall goal of the RT-PPP project, was to develop PPP techniques suitable for various real-time or near real-time applications. The main focus was placed on the production of real-time clock, orbit and atmospheric corrections as well as their transmission via Ntrip to a user client.
