EASIER - Enabling and Assessing Trust when Cooperating with Robots in Disaster Response

In the context of the Security Research Program (Kiras) the project EASIER aims at increasing trust of first responders in assistance robots. Emerging from deployment scenarios where mobile manipulation is needed (e.g. discharge of hazard substances) new methods in relation to transparency of the decisions of the robot, visualization of feedback and data, and control strategies will develop that will increase the trust of users. These developments will be evaluated by psychologists in field test using non-invasive methods (minimal disturbance of the process).

ECC – EnergyCityConcepts – Development of a methodology and concept for the implementation of sustainable energy systems in cities by the example of Gleisdorf and Salzburg

In the context of this project two concrete model regions (small city Gleisdorf and urban city quarter Salzburg-Schallmoos) will be developed and tested with new methodical approaches (interdisciplinary urban and regional energy planning, modeling and simulation). An ambitious political commitment of both model regions is a 100% renewable or rather CO2-neutral energy supply.

ECCS - Embedded Command and Control System

The subject of this project was to design an embedded command and control subsystem (ECCS) as part of a satellite onboard electronics module based on the MIL-STD-1553B interface standard. In the present context "embedded" means that the subsystem is not implemented as a separate system formed by dedicated hard- and software, but that it is fully integrated into the extended hard- and software of an existing state-of-the-art spaceborne payload processor module.

EDEN - Developement of a structured data and preparation documentation with a minimized error-proneness for energy performance cerificates.

Current energy performance certificates hold major flaws. Therefore, the presented research initiative aimed at the development of a standardized and easy-to-use, generic Input-Data-Documentation, which ensures the quality of energy certificates for all involved stakeholders. During the development, the documentation had been conducted and for a chosen sample of representative buildings, which is expected to demonstrate the high potential of such a development.
