MATSIM Phase-B - Verification of the Numerical MATROSHKA Model and Monte Carlo Simulations in the ISS Radiation Environment

The aim of MATSIM Phase-B is the validation of the numerical simulation model of MATROSHKA for photon and neutron reference radiation fields, which are available in Austria. The project MATSIM is a co-investigation of the ESA ELIPS-project MATROSHKA, a world wide collaboration that comprises 21 research institutes. MATROSHKA is a facility designed to determine the radiation exposure of an astronaut during an intra- and extravehicular activity at the International Space Station (ISS).

MEASURE - Monitoring Exercises using Ai-SUpport for Reliable Evaluation

The project focuses on the development of an intelligent tool to monitor and evaluate exercises in the context of fire and rescue services. Using a range of sensors and different data modelling technologies as well as artificial intelligence the tool aims to objectively measure the effectiveness of emergency forces in exercises. In this manner the tool provides a valid basis for the identification of possible improvement potential.

MEDIAS – Mediation as an Instrument of Dispute and Conflict Resolution: Application Practice and Effects

The study provides systematic and meaningful empirical data on the application practice, quality and effectiveness of out-of-court mediation according to the Austrian ZivMediatG. The study also analyzes the interrelationship between mediation and civil jurisdiction and investigates experiences with intra-court mediation, which is currently not legally anchored in Austria.

MEDLOK - Medical technology products and their localisation for needs-based use in crisis management

The research project MEDLOK deals with the scientific questions of a possible distribution of medical devices in crises or in the event of the failure of individual supply regions. With the help of a standardised data management platform and geographical information technologies, a MEDLOK system is to be created with which alternative courses of action can be simulated. These will be evaluated in a ‘proof of concept’ with the project and healthcare partners.

MEIDLINGER "L"-Participatory and scalable climate change adaptations in existing buildings at the intersection of public and private space

The project pursued an integral and interdisciplinary approach to climate change adaptation in existing buildings at the interface between public and private space. A scalable and multipliable model for Vienna and other cities had been developed.

Klimaneutrale Stadt

MEIDLINGER L Demo

The MEIDLINGER L modular rank shelf system is intended to enable the widespread use of façade greening in existing urban areas. In combination with thermal refurbishment of existing buildings as well as greening, PV, water management, conversion of street space and mobility with the integration of resilient energy infrastructure as well as the application of a customized financing model and a service offer for multiplicability.

MET4LOWW - MET Potentials for Arrival and Departure Management

The objective of the MET4LOWW project is to derive ATM procedures for integrating partly probabilistic wind and weather information into arrival and departure management. Wind-fields and weather-objects are implemented in University of Salzburg’s ATM/ATC simulator, and associated avoidance and adaption strategies are developed. Various traffic and weather scenarios are analysed using fast-time-simulation and evaluated based on ATM performance figures for safety, capacity, cost-efficiency and environment. Based on these results the optimal ATM-procedures and meteorological information will be derived, e.g. time-based separation. The resulting potential improvements for arrival and departure management are validated by real-time simulation.
