5th Gen HG - 5th Generation Heating Grid Neutal

In the 5th Gen HG project, an energy supply concept based entirely on renewable electricity and heat is to be developed for the municipality of Neutal in Burgenland and the neighbouring technology site. A newly designed 5th generation heating grid will form the local energy distribution backbone in the municipality. In addition to the technical and economic conceptualisation, the integration of local stakeholder requirements is a key feature of the project.

6D BIM-Terminal: Missing Link for the development of CO2 neutral buildings

The present project aims to close the gap between specialist consultants and Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications. For that, relevant data for cost estimation, scheduling construction planning and management or sustainable building operation and facility management, shall be added automatically to BIM elements and imported into the respective specialist planning software. This data exchange shall be carried out using IFC interface according to ÖNORM A6241-2 and the properties of the ASI properties server via a central platform, the "6D BIM-Terminal".

A3 - AI Act for Austria - Study on the implementation of the AI Act in Austria's critical infrastructures

The aim of the project is to analyse the newly emerging EU-wide regulations relating to the use of AI, especially in the high-risk area and in the area of application of critical infrastructures. From this, guidelines for the BMI and operators of critical infrastructures will be developed, as well as recommendations for feedback from the BMI to the EC and for dealing with significant innovations affecting the BMI's area of activity.

AAA4ATM - Analysis of Available Airspace for ATM

The goal of the project is the development of an analysis/forecast system for the prediction of available airspace within the next 6 hours based on the current distribution of convective weather phenomena that are obstructive to air traffic. To solve this issue, computer vision algorithms for object detection, feature extraction, tracking and extrapolation, as well as down/upsampling strategies in meteorological image processing and forecaster intervention are used.

AC/DC Office Buildings - Implementation of Electricity Networks with Alternating and Direct Current in Office Buildings - Feasibility and Energy Efficiency Potentials

Based on a literature and technology review this projects aimed to document and demonstrate already available and reasonable concepts for the implementation of electricity networks with alternating and direct current in modern office buildings. Focus of the study was to assess the feasibility in general and the energy efficiency potential in particular but it also documents necessary technical equipment and expected advantages and disadvantages. Additionally, important research questions for energy supply, energy distribution and application of direct current technologies were formulated.
