Cyber Range Technology Stack and Simulations for Training and Evaluation

CyberTASTE is a study that surveys available CR technologies and compares their advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, CyberTASTE develops guidelines and a systematic method to support the selection of CR technologies depending on use case and requirements. This is accompanied by the formulation and validation of best practices and the elicitation of research gaps and development needs.

CyberMonoLog - Cyber Security MONITORING and LOGGING Best Practice Guidance

CyberMonoLog develops best practices for cyber security monitoring and logging based on known attack techniques (MITER ATT&CK). The research question is therefore which data sources have to be analyzed with which methods in order to identify the most relevant attack techniques with an economic use of resources. The results of the project should be directly applicable best practice guidelines for the implementation of a monitoring strategy by SMEs and operators of critical infrastructures. The explanations will be based on the known state of the art and the applicability of the results will be ensured by cross-validation with external stakeholders, including authorities and experts from CERT.at. Legal aspects (data protection, labor law issues) are considered.

DAGMAR

The KIRAS project DAGMAR attempts to improve the concrete information situation for the ministries with economic governance competence (BMAW, BML, BMK) by using public data sources with innovative technological approaches such as deep learning, machine learning, ontologies, knowledge graphs, etc.) and linking them with existing structured data, so that potential economic shortages of raw materials, goods and/or services can be identified more quickly, more soundly and in a more targeted manner and then addressed with focussed and data-driven measures.

DAKTRis - Dynamic operational behaviour of absorption chillers in Trigeneration Systems

In the present project an absorption chiller will be adapted to meet the specific requirements necessary to integrate it with the CHP unit. By means of hardware-in-the-loop measurements and dynamic system simulations, different system configurations and control strategies will be analysed under dynamic boundary conditions, optimized and evaluated.

DALEC - Day- and Artificial Light with Energy Calculation

In the course of DALEC an online concept evaluation tool for architects, building engineers, lighting designers and building owners was developed. Although easy to use, the software accounts for the complex thermal and light processes in buildings and allows a simple evaluation of heating, cooling and electric lighting loads. Not only energy, but also user behavior were considered (e.g. in terms of glare protection) and visual and thermal comfort were evaluated. This novel and innovative, holistic approach makes sustainable and energy efficient building design possible for new buildings as well as refurbishment.

DARVIS - Data Fusion of K/X Band Radar with Visual Sensors for Airborne Platforms

Various sensor technologies in aviation have so far insufficiently combined the respective complementary properties. The optimal fusion as well as the respective characteristics of the sensors are to be optimally used in the future. The different methods for calibration and synchronization will be investigated and optimized. The results will then be incorporated into a sensor technology model for collision avoidance in aviation.
