Building as living lab - Buildings as a living lab for climate-neutral, needs-based and affordable housing
Within ÖWG, climate protection and sustainability are strategically anchored in renovation and densification projects. A comprehensive, climate-neutral renovation concept had been developed for a specific pilot property in Graz in an open, co-creative innovation process. The building becomes a living lab in which new solutions are tested in the everyday lives of the residents.
Buildings of highest energy-efficiency with integrated renewable energy development
For the future supply of energy services the combination of energy efficiency, energy storage and decentralized use of renewable energy in buildings offers itself. The project identified dynamic potentials of possible active and passive energy yields of construction units with use of renewable energy sources, pointed future solutions to energy-efficient and ecological design of building construction-units and united all results to a signpost: From today's passive house to the energy-plus-house of the future.
Business model innovations for rental and service models in the manufacturing sector
The project aims to contribute to a better understanding of the economic and ecological potentials of an implementation of lending and service models in the manufacturing sector in Austria and to show which changes and R&D efforts are necessary so that these can be realized by suitable business models.
C-CUBE
Feasibility study of a CubeSat mission for advanced telemetry, communications and signal monitoring
C-TOP - Carinthian Traffic Optimizer
CAFS - Commercial ASIC Foundries for Space Applications
The main goal is to optimise the cost function of such a commercial ASIC component qualification for space use by understanding all technological constraints. The results enable us to guide and support a subcontractor, which is inexperienced in space technologies, due to its background in the terrestrial market.
CAKAO
Combined analysis of kinematic orbits and loading observations to determine mass redistribution
CASIMO - Carrier Signal Monitoring
CASIMO2 - Carrier Signal Monitoring
CASIMO2 is a seamless enhancement of the carrier monitoring system based on and driven by customer requirements concerning the implementation of DSP based polarization discrimination measurements combined with enhanced demodulation functionality and satellite performance measurements.
CDPP - Configurable Data Processing Platform
The project comprised the identification of existing technologies such as signal processors, general purpose microprocessors as well as ASICs and FPGAs, and the design of possible DSP architectures, two of which were evaluated in the course of the project.
CDSM Consolidation
Consolidation of the preliminary Coupled Dark State Magnetometer (CDSM) design for the European JUICE mission
CDSM FM
Delivery, test and in space operation of the Coupled Dark State magnetometer in the frame of the Chinese CSES mission
CDSM TRL-Uplift - Uplift of the Technology Readiness Level of the Coupled Dark State Magnetometer
The aim of this project was to raise the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of a new type of scalar magnetometer called Coupled Dark State Magnetometer (CDSM). Advantages of the CDSM are the uncomplicated sensor design, the high dynamic range of more than 6 decades and the omni-directional measurement capability without additional design complexity.
CDSM-FS - Feasibility Study of a Coupled Dark State Magnetometer (CDSM)
In the frame of this project a feasibility study of a new type of scalar magnetometer called Coupled Dark State Magnetometer (CDSM) was carried out. It included the investigation of its technical readiness and scientific merit for space applications, the concept for a TRL 5 (component and/or breadboard validation in relevant environment) compliant design, a detailed investigation of key components as well as the identification of possible challenges for a reliable operation in space.
CE4ALL – Circular economy for all – Incentives, enablers and inhibitors for sustainable consumption
Based on an analysis of current milieu-specific consumption behavior, the CE4ALL project aims to identify sector-specific incentives and enablers for strengthening the circular economy and to uncover inhibitors. Another focus of this work is the consideration of inclusion aspects. CE4ALL is working on a consumption-centered investigation beyond the previously production-oriented considerations of the circular economy.
CELL4LIFE - Reversible SOCs as a link between electricity, heat and gas networks to increase the self-sufficiency and resilience of neighbourhoods
A system consisting of a solid oxide fuel cell and a Machine Learning-based control system for increasing efficiency and minimizing degradation had been developed. As a link between all energy supply networks, the system is intended to increase the self-sufficiency and resilience of plus-energy districts.
CFLIBS Steel Slag - A competitive edge, as hard as steel
If Austria wishes to remain an attractive industrial location for high-tech companies, it needs top-notch steel manufacturing. An improved measuring method for steel slag makes a vital contribution to this.
CHALLENGE - Highly efficient use of hot gas and waste heat in air/water heat pumps for plus-energy buildings and quarters
CHALLENGE is further developing the system concept from the H2020 HYBUILD project for air-to-water heat pumps for densely built-up urban areas. Using simulation calculations and laboratory-scale prototypes, it has been demonstrated that the CHALLENGE concept can save 38% of electrical energy, minimise noise from the outdoor unit in summer, and prevent the formation of local heat islands.
CHAMPCLIM - Climate Monitoring Based on the CHAMP/GPS Radio Occultation Experiment
The overall aim of CHAMPCLIM is to exploit research satellite CHAMPsradio occultation data in the best possible manner for their most challenging application, which is climate monitoring.
CITYGovernance - Adjustments in the innovation ecosystem around regulatory framework conditions
The aim of the R&D service was to gain insights on obstacles and barriers to the overarching governance for achieving the goal of "climate neutrality of Austrian cities", to structure them and to prepare them in a publishable study. The study focuses on the areas of energy, buildings and mobility and contain recommendations for action on the necessary framework conditions and need for change.
