Itz Smart – Carbon neutral city district development Itzling – Implementing innovation and technology via co-operative process design
The goal of the project “Itz Smart” is to tie in with existing activities and to consistently develop Itzling as a residential location further. In the test and demonstration area, sustainable residential quarters with trendsetting solutions for mobility are developed in the zone of the transport axis (railway and Schillerstraße) and along the local supply axis (Itzlinger Hauptstraße). The consideration of housing and mobility with regard to the aspect of “city of short ways“ also entails a discussion of determined mixed utilisation and the development of such residential quarters.
IÖB-ENERGY - Public procurement for intelligent urban energy solutions
Assessment of the potential for pre-commercial procurement in the Smart City energy sector in Austria in the areas of innovative building technologies, urban energy systems and systems for urban planning. The results will serve as the basis for recommendations for future priority setting for public procurers.
JOE - New Possibilities for Intelligent Infotainment
The objective of JOE is to create new possibilities for intelligent infotainment in the area of recreation and tourism by using satellite-navigation based devices.
JUICE-RWI-ANT-CAL
Experimental and numerical models for the calibration of the JUICE RWI antennas
JUNO/Waves - Calibration of the JUNO/Waves Antenna System
This project was dedicated to the analysis of electric field sensors as flown on board the NASA spacecraft JUNO to the gas giant Jupiter. The overarching goal of the JUNO mission is to understand Jupiter’s origin and evolution.
Jagd+
Satellite-based detection of hazardous areas to prevent accidents involving long guns
Jet Pro*
Jets from protostars: determining the influence of ejecta in regulating the early protostellar evolution
Joining Cards - Investigation of de-constructable fastening and joining techniques for the development of mono-material interior systems made of cardboard
Strategic examination of cardboard products and paper-based materials for the development of de-constructible interior systems and the definition of building components and their interfaces. The result forms the basis for further research projects in the form of a comprehensive knowledge gain.
KELVIN - Reducing the urban heat island effect via improving the reflective properties of buildings and urban areas
The aim of this project was to estimate the potential to reduce urban heat islands via low-tech measures such as the variation of the surface albedo, using the City of Vienna as an example. The project has also assessed the energy savings and greenhouse gas emission reductions due to the decreased energy demand for cooling as a result of such measures.
KING, KlimaINnovationsstadt Graz - Strategies and actions for a climate-neutral Graz
With the preparation of a climate protection plan by autumn 2021, a central cornerstone for achieving climate neutrality in Graz has been laid. KING builds on this climate protection plan and further develops and specifies the key measures defined therein in a comprehensive participation and consultation process.
KLIMDO - Urban energy and climate strategy of the city of Dornbirn as basis for achieving climate neutrality by 2030
A central goal of the project is to obtain detailed knowledge of energy consumption, energy consumption flows and energy potentials including spatialization in the entire urban araea of Dornbirn. Based on this data, various scenarios are to be elaborated that map possible developments in the city. Subsequently, the basis for an energy and climate strategy based on the vision of climate neutrality will be prepared.
KLIMUR: climate-resilient urban resource management for the case study of Zukunftshof and Rothneusiedl
For the concept of the Zukunftshof, an innovative urban agriculture area, development scenarios for an integrated energy and resource cycle system are to be developed using optimisation tools and parametric design studies. A roadmap consisting of technical concepts and a coordinated financing strategy will provide the basis for a demo project that demonstrates in practice how the Zukunftshof can be the starting point and basis for resource-efficient and climate-resilient urban development.
KOMEOS - Konzeption von Modellen multifunktionaler Energiezentren für die Ost-Steiermark
Within the region of East-Styria a variety of so-called regional multifunctional energy centers have been designed for selected location which can be characterized by generating renewable energy and additional products or services. Identification of optimum set-up of energy centers. General recommendation for implementation.
KONSENT
Design of a flight measurement campaign to prepare to use and to validate Sentinel-4 data
KeepCool II - Transforming the market from "cooling" to "sustainable summer comfort"
12 partners from nine European Countries work together in the project "KeepCool II" with the aim to advance alternatives to sustainable summer comfort at office - and public buildings.
KeraSchub - Feasibility Study of Regeneratively Cooled Thrust Chambers Made of C/SiC Ceramic Composites
The KeraSchub study has analyzed whether cost-efficient C/SiC materials could also be used for the design of rocket thrust chambers. The KeraSchub study has performed a material survey and investigated conceptual thrust chamber designs based on these materials. It was determined that deficiencies of cost-efficient materials can be overcome by clever thrust chamber designs. As well as areduction in cost and an increase in lifetime, a significant increase in reliability and safety can possibly be achieved.
Kierling passive house - heading into the future sustainably
Using the example of demonstrational renovation, Kierling (built between 1977 and 1979) tests the possibilities of a renovation in passive house standard in technical, organizational and financial terms as an outstanding example of a comprehensive renovation.
KityVR - Artificial intelligence techniques to implement CityGML models and VR visualization
The KityVR project deals with key research aspects at the interface between 3D city models and virtual reality. It addresses questions such as how virtual reality can be used for visualization in the field of 3D city models and how machine learning and statistical methods can be used to enrich or complete energy-related data sets.
KlimaStadtLinz2030: Linz and its path to climate neutrality by 2030 - Preparation for the EU - Mission “100 Climate-neutral Cities by 2030”
The research project investigates whether and how it is possible for the city of Linz to achieve climate neutrality by 2030 within its own sphere of influence. A common vision, which is being developed with the citizens in a participatory manner, unites the opportunities that arise for the city through the measures necessary for this goal.
