RENEWnow - New impulses for the highly efficient energetic renovation of multi-storey buildings and districts
Exploration of an innovative approach for the highly efficient renovation of apartment buildings in Austria. The aim is to develop a new service model (one-stop shop) for property managers and owner associations through a targeted, novel mix of technical and non-technical measures.
REal - The laboratory for Integrated Regional Renewable Energy Systems
In the REal project, a holistic, scalable and user-friendly concept was created, whereby sector-coupled, municipal energy systems with 100% renewable energy can be implemented, considering all necessary aspects from planning to operation, reducing design costs and accelerating an Austria-wide implementation.
RF-Suitcase - Generic RF-Suitcase Core
So called Radio Frequency Suitcases (RF-suitcases) are required for every spacecraft, in order to assure compatibility of the spacecraft and every groundstation delivering support to the mission. An RF-suitcase contains a simplified, yet representative configuration of the satellite flight hardware in order to make these tests representative.
RONCALLI - Real time traffic information
The RONCALLI principle is based on linking centrally available information with current vehicle data. Key components from RONCALLI are GPS-positioning (later Galileo) and traffic relevant information from a central server which communicates with amobile device (PDA) over a GPRS connection. The permanent availability of positioning signals from satellites and efficient mobile radio connections form the central theme of the project.
RPOD - Real-Time Precise Orbit Determination
The present activity supports RSA’s on-going GNSS receiver product development and aims at establishing real-time navigation algorithms, which enable the RSA receiver to reach a navigation performance in the range of one meter.
RT-PPP - Development of a Real-time PPP Processing Facility
The overall goal of the RT-PPP project, was to develop PPP techniques suitable for various real-time or near real-time applications. The main focus was placed on the production of real-time clock, orbit and atmospheric corrections as well as their transmission via Ntrip to a user client.
ReBuildStock - Portfolio management for the decarbonisation of larger housing stocks
Portfolio management method to support the decision-making processes of owners of larger housing stocks in developing strategies for the rapid and socially responsible decarbonisation of their building stock.
ReCon: Development of a resilient hook-and-loop-fastening-system for the adaptable assembly of building components in the building industry
Systemic examination of the hook-and-loop fastener and building component interfaces for the development of a resilient fastening system between parts/components with different functions and lifespan. The result serves to verify the fastening system and forms a basis for further research and establishment in the building industry.
ReHABITAT-Settlement: Sustainable rehabilitation and activation of a single-family housing estate in Mistelbach
Exploration of a sustainable single-family house redevelopment, with a holistically conceived definition of sustainability that starts with people, is based on sufficiency and also takes into account green and open spaces, social factors and mobility. The result is an integrated overall concept at the house and settlement level, and a transferable approach for other communities.
ReKlaSat 3D
Three-dimensional reconstruction and classification of high-resolution optical satellite data.
Reallabor 100% renewable energy Waldviertel
Under the motto "Always one step ahead", the aim is to develop a content-related and economic implementation concept for a "Reallabor 100% erneuerbare Energie Waldviertel".
Reallabor Weizplus - Reallabor climate-neutral region Weizplus
Clarification of relevant questions for the potential establishment of a real lab in the region of Weizplus, which aims at a 100% supply of the region with renewable energies by 2030. The content-related technological focus of the activities of the future real lab is on all energy-relevant sectors (heating, electricity, cooling) applied to the focal points of energy efficiency and replacement of fossil energy in buildings, in trade and industry as well as mobility.
Recommendations for a consolidated Austrian research in the topic of "Smart Cities"
Based on a clear definition of the topics and focusing on energy relevant aspects the project will provide an overview on the present points of focus in research on "Smart Cities". Furthermore, future research topics will be defined and evaluated, and action plans for political stakeholders will be elaborated in the framework of two expert workshops.
Recommendations for funding criteria to promote system benefits for medium and large battery storage systems
Market analysis and stakeholder process
Reconstruction of residential buildings "Tschechenring": ecologically reconstruction of monumental-protected residential buildings for workers (1880) in Felixdorf
Planning and realisation of a demonstration project for the exemplary reconstruction of monumental-protected residential buildings of the late 19th century or comparable housing estates of the 30s under consideration of energetic optimization, renewable energy sources and regenerating raw materials.
Recovery of biomolecules from condensates of process gases during thermal refinement of wood for the development of new wood products.
The exhaust vapors of the process of refinement of wood are not longer seen as industrial waste but a starting point for added value from products used in the timber industry, which represents a new approach for sustainable utilisation of wood.
Reduction of Broke in Paper Production
Development of a measurement and control system that detects paper deformation during production. Thus, broke is reduced, significant savings in energy use are achieved, and the economic efficiency is well increased.
Reduction of cooling requirements through optimized urban structures and processes and design optimisation in building design (smartKB*)
Based on a systematic listing of appropriate methods, recommended actions have been developed to reduce the cooling requirements in new or renovated buildings on three levels: a) optimization and use of appropriate urban structures, b) design strategies and passive measures for building concepts, c) reduction of cooling requirements through integrated planning processes.
