Supply Chain Forest-Logistic-Saw as First application of platform of IT/Telematics concepts for resource efficient forestry use in montane forest
A Supply Chain Management concept for sustained use of the mountain forest in collaboration with all the individual participants is to be drawn up. Harvesting and transport from the forest to the mill will be registered and controlled by WEB-GIS technology. A CO2 balance sheet will be prepared and optimization potentials shown in the process. An outline will be made of an integrated job model.
SurfaceVision - The world’s first seeing robot
The human eye perceives tiny irregularities on smooth, glossy surfaces as defects. Now, a "seeing robot" enters the field.
Sustainability Management System - Improvement and completion of the SMS by involvement of stakeholders
Comprehensive implementation of the SMS in four Austrian companies with a specific focus on the conceptual development of a companywide stakeholder management. Distribution of the project results through the publication of the praxis hand book "Systemic Sustainable Management"
Sustainability Research: Internationalisation of an existing Research Model for Sustainable Investment
The project's purpose was to adapt the existing rfu sustainability model for an improved international utilization. The developed elements (rating scale, sector structure, weighting model, etc.) have become content of several documents (description of the model, etc.) and instruments (Rating-Tool, Data Pool).
Sustainable Lifestyles
Create sustainable products, services and lifestyles: Analysis of typologies of lifestyles, scope for design for companies, involvement of consumers and stakeholders.
Sustainable energy supply for Austria
Rapidly increasing energy consumption and decreasing resources of fossil fuels lead to dramatical economical, ecological and social problems. This study identified the feasible long term potential of renewable energy sources. Then ways were developed how to supply the demand for future energy consumption with renewable energy sources, despite increasing energy services.
Sustainable energy supply: Production and import of biomass and bio fuels
The project gives an overview of the supply and demand for biofuels specifically dealing with the situation in Europe and that in threshold and developing countries using case studies as examples. Cases: Sweden and France as importing countries in the EU, and Senegal as a (potential) exporting nation.
Sustainable product service for raising the energy efficiency of injection moulding machines for plastics
Performing a feasibility study of establishing a sustainable product service for raising the energy efficiency of injection moulding machines for plastics via analysing the basic organizational and technical conditions.
Sustainable quarter "Aspern"
The development concept for the new quarter in Vienna (a former airfield) demands a great deal of sustainability: overall energy strategy, sustainability criteria as financial incentives for applicants for building permits and construction of sustainable and energy efficient buildings.
Sustainable trend-setters - LOHAS on the way to a sustainable society
"Sustainable trendsetters" investigated the consumer group "cultural creatives" by applying the Q-methodology. It provides criteria for product development and promotion of LOHAS products and services in the sustainable textile sector and for sustainable tourism.
Sustainable ventilation systems in multi story residential buildings in the conflict areas of hygiene and costs
The goal of this project was to develop guidelines for hygienic and cost-efficient mechanical ventilation systems in residential buildings, in which maintenance and cleaning demands are described. These guidelines are based on existing literature as well as practical experience of the property owners, finally they are based on results of hygienic measurements in existing ventilation systems conducted in this research project.
Symbiose-4-I&C - Optimal decentralized hybrid storage technologies among different energy systems -4-Industry and Commerce
The project Symbiose-4-I&C analysed the coupling of existing energy networks/-carriers, established on centralized energy network nodes or directly next to a consumer (households, industry and commerce) and the benefits of applying decentralized storage technologies. The optimal position, dimension and the right storage and conversion technology and an optimal energy wide operation of larger consumer groups were estimated for an urban model region.
SynENERGY - Energy optimised settlement development by making use of synergies of energy efficiency, spatial planning and building culture
SynENERGY aims at an innovative, holistic approach to urban district optimization. The project targets a comprehensive analysis of the framework and urban development concept which includes not only optimisation of sustainable energy supply and use but also increased material flows (construction and disposal) at urban district level.
SynSent
Synergistic Use of Sentinel Missions for Monitoring Cryosphere and Surface Deformation
Syn[En]ergy: Development of Potential Synergy Effects between the Interdependency of Urban Planning goals and Photovoltaic Usage on Open Urban Landscapes
Open spaces such as parking lots, brownfields and some categories of recreation areas offer an underutilised potential for photovoltaics in urban regions. In the course of Syn[En]ergy an inter- and transdisciplinary approach potential synergies and conflicts with other use demands were investigated, a typology and practical solutions for selected areas with regard to requirements from economy, urban planning and design, legal as well social aspects developed, and then evaluated by stakeholders from enterprises, administration and the general public.
TANZ - Exploration of a regional living lab: Tourism as an opportunity for the energy transition in Pinzgau
Exploration for a regional living lab to accelerate Austria's climate neutrality in 2040 in the tourism region of Pinzgau. Based on numerous preliminary works, model solutions (“Realtests”) for the innovation fields of sector coupling, energy communities and sustainable heating solutions were designed, the organisational structure of the living lab is developed and stakeholders were actively involved.
TCTM - Model Driven TC/TM Protocol Design
The TCTM project aimed to establish a single definition source for the TC/TM interface and to automatically generate the respective documentation, SRDB, flight software and test equipment software to reduce the NRE effort for future instrument developments.
