SIECAMS BOX - Carrier Monitoring System for Small Operators
The aim of the project is the integration of general-purpose PCI sample cards in SIECAMS for supporting standard spectrum monitoring and demodulation measurement tasks on a highly competitive level in terms of performance and price as well as a reduction of the required equipment space. Furthermore, it is the aim to provide a generic interface to import digitized data of different resolution and sampling rates in order to support standard digitization equipment from different manufacturers. The current SIECAMS Client Server architecture will be enhanced by an additional Web-Server hosting the web-application.
SIMULTAN - Simultaneous planning environment for buildings in resilient, highly energy efficient and resource-efficient districts
This project enabled the opportunity for an essential energy efficiency increase within overlapping buildings, to achieve the objective of resilient cities and districts with respect to a high quality of life, resource sustainability and energy efficiency. The goal was a workable tool based on a multidisciplinary planning approach, to support the decision finding process in order to design both refurbishment projects and new developments within a highly efficient city.
SINUS: Sensor Integration for Urban Risk Prediction
The SINUS project explored the integration of mobile sensor technologies and urban data to predict traffic risks for cyclists and pedestrians. A model developed using data from Salzburg provides risk assessments and is complemented by a Smart-City dashboard and a smartphone app. Evaluation showed that acoustic warnings offer the best visibility and enhance users' situational awareness.
SKIN - Concept for a product service system in the area of surface treatment
Development of a concept for a product service system (PSS) in the area of surface treatment (varnish, laquer, paint). Instead of selling varnish and pain, the service of surface treatment (per square meter) should be developed for private and commercial users.
SKISPRUNG - Precise Trajectory and Velocity Determination in Ski Jumping
The most important indicators for the flight performance of a ski jumper are the flight trajectory itself and the corresponding velocity. Due to the fact that an accurate position and velocity information along the flight trajectory is available for coaches and athletes shortly after the jump, new and important analysis methods of the jump performance are made possible. Therefore, the main objective of the project SKISPRUNG is the precise determination of these two indicators - the position and the velocity along the flight trajectory at each epoch.
SM Data Cubes
Data storage, access and transfer methods of multidimensional data cubes based on ASCAT soil moisture data
SMART-1 EPDP - Co-Investigator on Electric Propulsion Diagnostic Package (EPDP) for European SMART-1 Satellite
SMARTIES - SMART Innovative Energy Services - Analysis of requirements of smart energy-services
The emerging development of smart grids provides market opportunities for new ICT-based services ("smart value-added services"). Economic and organizational barriers are foreseeable that could affect the establishment of business models and service providers (data formats, connectivity, controllability, etc.). In order to improve the chances especially for new and local actors, SMARTIES proactively tries to eliminate hindrances of innovation.
SMDE - Spaceborne Motor Drive Electronics
The objective of this study was to assess the requirements of past and near future space missions and to conduct a technology and topology survey. The results of this survey allowed selecting concepts for power electronics building blocks, with the help of which spaceborne motors, that drive different kinds of mechanisms, can be controlled.
SOCO.net - Solar Cooling Network for AUSTR(AL)IA
The main goal was to establish a long-term cooperation for "Solar Cooling" between the Austria Solar Innovation Center (ASiC) and the Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSES) at the renowned Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra. Combining the competences of both institutes immediately offers the chance to boost the penetration of the European and the Australian market with this new technology for cooling in sustainable buildings.
SOFC SINGLE CELL - Single Cell Test Stand for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
The aim of this project was to investigate Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) fuelled with carbon monoxide in order to generate performance data which can subsequently be used for design studies of such power systems.
SOFC4City - SOFC-waste heat utilization for buildings and industry
In this project the application of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) for energy supply (heat and power) of urban areas will be investigated. Due to the high temperature level of the produced heat it would be possible to use this heat for the energy supply of different heat and power consumers (residential buildings, industrial plants, etc.). One aim is to provide the SOFC-heat at several temperature levels in order to establish the advantages of the fuel cell. On the one hand the legal and market-based conditions will be evaluated, on the other hand the technological feasibility will be scoured by the use of CFD-simulation of the heat production.
SOLDYN - Dynamics of Solar Flares and Coronal Mass Ejections
In the project SOLDYN we use the unprecedented observational capabilities of the recent NASA Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory (STEREO) and Reuven Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (RHESSI) missions to investigate the physical processes in solar flares and Coronal mass ejections (CMEs).
SOLROSE FP - bionical designed solarthermal collector, final product developement
Archieved goal was the final product developement oft he innovative solarthermal collector SOLrose from prototype to seriel production. Enhancements of SOLrose with respect to the state oft he art: attractive design for frontage integration, serial production of system modules, distribution and assembling.
SPACE4free - Retrofitting souterrain areas in 19th century townhouses to apartments with high quality of life and low energy consumption
Planning of durable and damage-free apartments with high quality of life and low energy consumption in moisture exposed souterrain areas of 19th century townhouses. Using innovative ventilation control systems comfortable room climate will be created. Additionally the tolerance of different types of use is ensured. A planning tool enables the scaling of the findings and thus the applicability to various planning situations.
SPARTA - Frame production in the RTM process for aviation applications
The project SPARTA tooling comprises the development of a cost- and energy efficient, automated resin transfer molding production process for aerospace fuselage frames. The big benefit of the process is the possibility for automation, shown in automation developments, and the outlook to high volume production feasibility.
SPEF - Signal Processor Emulation Facility
The present emulation facility allows for efficient testing of the software running on a micro-processor that controls the Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) while the ASIC is still being manufactured at the foundry.
