Permafrost in Iceland - Climate Change Impact on Permafrost Development and Resulting Mass Movment Processes
PESI - Paradigm shift in urban energy systems through synergies with industry
Analysis of different options for the use of industrial surplus energies of various shapes (waste heat, waste water, waste) and renewable energy sources in the industrial sector (e.g. solar panels on roof surfaces) in adjacent urban areas, which act as an "energy sponge". Based on real consumption and availability data, a simulation model was created and opportunities for synergies were documented.
PET2More - Biotechnological upcycling of PET plastic waste as a contribution to the gradual reduction of petroleum-based raw material dependency
The aim of the PET2More project is to develop a biotechnological process for upcycling PET plastic monomer waste. To this end, previously unknown and unavailable decarboxylase enzymes for the conversion of terephthalic acid and 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid into valuable chemicals such as benzoic acid and furan-2-carboxylic acid are to be identified, characterized and optimized by means of enzyme engineering.
PH Office - Criterions for energy-efficient office buildings
The passive house standard and energy-efficient building technologies are getting increasingly important for office buildings, too. However, standardisation is not completed on the same level as known from the residential building sector. The project at hand brings in definitions and makes a suggestion on a standardised calculation method for office buildings in passive house quality.
PH-Academy - "Passive house of the future" Academy platform for knowledge transfer between building developers
Builders and developers of residential buildings in low energy and passive house standard were invited to an academically moderated direct exchange of experiences, to turn them into competent users of new technologies.
PHELICITI - A new generation of chips in 3D
A chip that combines the best of two worlds: intelligent electronics meets fast photonics. The one-chip solutions developed by PHELICITI are scalable and can be produced cost effectively.
PHOTOVOLTAIC WATER Solution
Passive House refurbishment facade with integrated photovoltaic modules for direct, current-based warm water preheating. The GIWOG, an energy-conscious and environmentally and socially oriented client, intends to undertake an energy-related modernisation project, which will further optimise energy consumption to be more efficient at an apartment complex in Graz, main street 302-306. The goal is to lower the energy consumption for heating and hot water from the current level of approximately 135 kWh /m²a to approximately 8 kWh /m²a. The planned measures should correspond with an overall energy consumption reduction of approx. 94 %.
PHplusCAD, IT-based efficient Passive house- and Plusenergy house-Planning
Elaboration and programming of a software that reduces effort and time consumption of Passive house and Plusenergy house planning. By developing direct interfaces between CAD-applications and PHplusCAD and interfaces between PHplusCAD and Passivhouse planning tools based on MS Excel the system could be improved and the related working processes alleviated.
PICAM - Planetary Ion Camera
The instrument PICAM is an ion mass spectrometer operating as an all-sky camera for charged particles to study the chain of processes by which neutrals are ejected from the soil, eventually ionised and transported through the environment of Mercury.
PICAM 3 - Planetary Ion Camera for the BepiColombo Mercury Planetary Orbiter
The instrument PICAM combines the features of an ion mass spectrometer with imaging capabilities for charged particles that will allow to study the chain of processes by which neutrals are ejected from the soil, eventually ionised and transported through the environment of Mercury. As a result one will better understand the formation of Mercury's tenuous atmosphere and the plasma within the cavity encompassed by its magnetic field.
PIK - Support in Crisis Situations
The fact that organizations involved in emergency relief (ambulance, fire brigade, police) are not electronically connected and cannot access common disposition services during a crisis complicates matters greatly. The project PIK addresses these challenges by developing new components and improving existing elements
PISA - Position Information System for Time- and Location-based Analysis
Within the scope of the project PISA a system will be developed which registers vehicles’ movements by utilizing GPS technology. At the same time, data about actual weather and road conditions (e.g. rainfall, ground temperature) are collected. Both are stored in a central database, which is connected to a geo-information system.
PLAISIR - Planning Innovation: Learning form socially innovative energy projects
PLAISIR analyses social innovation in energy projects located in peripheral region in order to understand their role in energy transition processes and to give recommendations for energy-oriented, endogenous regional development policy.
PLAN-E - Integrating electric energy demand of machine tool processes as resource for production planning software
Energy as an Important Production Factor. Consideration of energy demand and energy costs in the planning phase of production enables optimized resource and cost management.
PLEO - Pleiades On-board Management Unit
POLLID
Pollen is a valuable natural resource for active agents, which is collected by bees in a natural way. To use the pollen a processing (sorting) is necessary. The project deals with the basics of the identification and separation of bee-collected pollen.
POMAR 3D - Positioning and Orientation Module for a Mobile Augmented Reality Client for Real Time 3D Visualization of Underground Infrastructure
Popularity of three-dimensional city models is increasing rapidly. The project POMAR 3D continues a project called VIDENTE, which addresses the visualization of "underground city infrastructure".
