DW² - Thermal improvements on diaphragm walls
New materials and installation methods for diaphragm walls will be investigated in laboratory and field tests in order to improve the thermal properties of the construction elements. Additional numerical and ecological aspects are considered to ensure an energetic enhancement of underground constructions such as underground garages or thermal energy storages.
DaMon
Cyber-attacks are serious threats for organizations and entire nations. The project results enable political decision makers to implement specific and Austrian data protection legislation compliant measures to protect the Austrian ICT infrastructure and the connected economic, governmental, and societal development
Data-based processes for the creation and formulation of production data for complex industrial plants.
Development and evaluation of a process to automatically create models from existing production data of industrial plants. These models can be used to optimize the production process and plant equipment (scrap, quality, use of raw materials and energy) or to detect and predict faults.
DataScience4SmartQuarters - Energy saving potentials through neighbourhood and community planning – Part 2
DataScience4SmartQuarters develops and researches an innovative method for the fast and efficient evaluation of simulation scenarios (building/energy, mobility) for communities.
DayGuide - Intelligent Guidance in Everyday Life
The project develops a social platform which facilitates everyday life for people with cognitive impairments. The platform is tested in a clinical study.
De-lacquering as a service
Development of the service of de-lacquering in industrial plants on the basis of pulsed high pressure water with a new, energy efficient high pressure pump. Further possible applications will be searched for and evaluated.
DeB-AT – Detection and separation of portable batteries from mixed waste using sensor technology and artificial intelligence
The DeB-AT project plans the development of a laboratory or pilot plant demonstrator for the targeted separation of batteries from mixed waste streams. The concept of the demonstrator follows the methodological elaboration of the necessary requirements of optical sensors and the separation technology for AI-supported detection of the general population of batteries.
DeFiTrace: Data-driven Methods for analyzing illegal money flows in multi-ledger DeFi-Ecosystems
The DeFiTrace project aims to create algorithmic methods to detect illegal transactions in cross-ledger Decentralized Finance (DeFi) ecosystems.
DeGe - Deployable Getaway for the International Space Station (ISS) - Deployable Crew-Quarter-Cabin and Sleep-/Work-Equipment for Temporary Use on ISS and for Future Applications in 0-Gravity Environments
The Deployable Getaway (DeGe) is a deployable crew quarter, which can be unfolded into an astronaut’s crew cabin using a "folding box principle". In folded configuration two of them can be stored in one International Standard Payload Rack on ISS. The size of the unfolded cabin corresponds to those of the crew-quarter cabins actually in use. In contrast to the integrated existing cabins the DeGe can be positioned at any suitable location on ISS.
DeLight Monitoring - Demo light Impact-Monitoring and metrological investigation of energy-efficient buildings
The Project consists of the metrological examination of eleven innovative buildings in terms of energy consumption and user comfort. In addition, building constructors and operators as well as the public are sensitized to the subject of energy-related optimization of building operation. Also, the potentials of energy-related optimization of building operation are shown.
Decarb Alt Erlaa - Transformation of Alt Erlaa residential park into a climate neutral district
Exploration of a transformation of the Alt Erlaa residential park into a climate neutral district based on systematic potential analyses regarding structural measures, building technology measures and a sociological monitoring of the transformation process. The result of the exploratory study serves as a starting point for implementing the measures in a follow-up project.
Decarbonization of Cities and Communities (Cities TCP)
The Cities TCP is a joint international effort that aims to accelerate the decarbonization in cities by providing a communication platform for relevant expertise of all IEA bodies to the local scale including cities, financing institutions, utilities, service providers and building constructors. Vice-versa, the platform generates evidence-based research questions of cities needs for IEA TCPs.
Delorean - Electromobility in real-life practical use by the police force
The police currently have the largest vehicle fleet in Austria and their governmental tasks require an absolutely reliable mobility solution, the concrete use of which, however, cannot be planned in advance. The goal of the Delorean project is now to prepare a concrete overall concept for an innovative interaction of the individual mobility components (e.g., vehicle, battery cells, location factors, infrastructure, charging management, practical procedures, usage behavior, cybersecurity and resilience to blackout), to create the fundamental prerequisites and to prepare for the test deployment following the project in 2023.
Demonstration building of the eco²building system: First passive house prefabricated wood building system for commercial and industrial buildings
The EU funded "eco2building" construction system in a timber-frame based modular design represents a systematic approach for energy efficient commercial and industrial buildings. The object of the eco²building demonstration project - the logistics centre in passive-house quality for "Eine Welt Handel AG" - in Niklasdorf was to optimize the planning and construction processes and prepare for the market launch of the eco²building construction system. Accompanying research monitored and disseminated the experience.
Demonstration project LifeCycle Tower - batch-produced energy efficient timber/hybrid high-rise building system
The energy efficient building concept shall be tested with regard to its functional efficiency and real usage conditions. The demonstration project is based upon the results of previous research activities and shall be presented to a wider public. It shall illustrate the advantages of a batch-produced timber/hybrid high-rise building system which offers high quality of energy and resource efficiency.
Demoobject energy-autarkic solarplant
Within the project at hand a production plant with store house and offices had been constructed. It serves as a reality testing field for long-term measurement of components and systems developed in previous projects. It serves for the demonstration of innovative energy systems and components for the interested public and for experts.
Deployment and training of personal tracking dogs (PSH)
Investigate principles for deployment of personal tracking dogs, evaluating the existing training program and obtaining information from other European police authorities.
Dermtrainer – A novel decision support system for training and diagnosis in dermatology
Sharpening Diagnostic Skills. In many areas of the world dermatologists are not the primary medical contact for patients with skin diseases. A medical decision support system can assist non-specialized physicians in diagnosing dermatologic conditions and can serve as a training platform.
Design of pumped storage schemes
Development of a new surge tank system for pumped storage schemes (PSS) for the governing of the changing requirements in electricity networks due to integration of renewable, volatile energy sources.
