Voltage stabilization by central reactive power control of biogas power plants (Virtual Biogas Power Plant)
A virtual power plant, combining 20 agricultural biogas plants is planned in the south-eastern part of the State of Styria (A). The aim of the project is to realize a central reactive power control system of the biogas plants. Active power of this biogas plants ranges between 1 and 3 MW. Specific goals of the project are increasing grid stability, decreasing long distance reactive power transmission, decreasing energy losses, and decreasing utility costs.
WAALTeR - Integrated System Solution with Added Value
The project WAALTeR (Wiener AAL TestRegion) combines existing prototypes and solutions to build an integrated AAL system solution which is tested and evaluated in 83 households in Vienna.
WEIZconnected - crossbuilding energy exchange
The subject of this project is the design, development and demonstration / test operation of a total system of energy exchange (electricity) across buildings and building-integrated energy production for different types of buildings (residential, office, laboratory buildings).
WEST-AAL - Individual Bundled Solutions for the Elderly
The project WEST-AAL (AAL Test Region Western Austria) tests individual bundled solutions for elderly people living in different housing and care situations in Tyrol and Vorarlberg.
WFI CPM evaluation
Evaluation of a processor architecture for the development of the central processor module for WFI on ATHENA
WHISCERS. Whole House In-Situ Carbon & Emission Reduction Solution
Whiscers is a system for installing internal wall insulation with minimal mess, whilst the resident remains in the property. It involves measuring the walls in the property using a laser device that enables fast and highly accurate measurement. Information is then sent electronically to a computer controlled off-site cutting machine that is rapid, precise and mess-free.
WISE - Extension of the safety concept for heat pumps with flammable refrigerants for gas boiler replacement
In the project "WISE", safety concepts are being developed for the event of a leak in which flammable refrigerant escapes from the refrigeration circuit. These concepts aim to ensure a higher level of safety for residential installations than is currently required by the safety standard.
WLCÖ - Whole Life Carbon Austria: Comparative life-cycle assessments for buildings and construction methods in Austria
The project's aim is to develop a scientifically robust building LCA methodology that can be applied throughout Austria and enable a neutral, consistent comparison of conventional and future-proof constructions.
WLV.neu - Study pertaining to Art 9a of the Austrian Federal Constitution (B-VG) on economic (national) defense, with special focus on examining necessary legal adaptations
In the Austrian Federal Law Gazette 1975/368, the so-called comprehensive (national) defense was defined in Art 9a B-VG with its four dimensions (military, intellectual, civil and economic defense) as an administrative task under constitutional law.
WRITE - IT assisted search and comparison of handwritings
IT based solution which allows for the search of similar handwritings to expedite the identification of unknown writers by handwriting experts.
Walchfenster04 - from a functional model to a serial production-oriented prototype
Technical preparation of the functional model from the window and facadesystem walchwindow04 to a serial production-oriented prototype. Developing the new production processes and technologies
Wanzendrohne: “Multi-sensory networks and agricultural drones for the control of invasive stink bugs in orchards”
This project is concerned with the development of mechanical control of invasive stink bugs in orchards. For this aim, intelligent sensor technologies are used and technical drones and ground robots are developed for autonomous bug control.
Waste heat utilisation and use of renewable energy sources in a metal-working enterprise
Use of waste heat and covering of the remaining energy demand by the renewable energy sources hydropower and biomass in a metal-processing company.
Wastewater cycle. Cascadic recycling of wastewater and organic residue streams in buildings.
Basic research is being conducted for a sustainable cycle-oriented system for the building-integrated recycling of wastewater and food waste. This includes nutrient recovery for a sustainable circulation system (production of plant fertiliser and biochar), electricity production to meet the demand (up to 15 %) of plus-energy buildings, as well as water recovery for irrigation of the building's own or urban greenery and for summer cooling.
Wastewater monitoring as a tool for crisis prevention, as well as crisis and pandemic management”
The project deals with the detection of pathogens in wastewater and the subsequent development and testing of surveillance systems.
WatchDog
Mobile communication and multi-sensor solution for security and risk management for outdoor areas and object security
Watersorption - Water absorption of Wood Plastic Composites
Analysis of the water absorption in Wood Plastic Composites (WPC) in order to develop solutions to decrease and stop water absorption. This enables a big variety of new applications made of WPC and brings economical and ecological advantages for the polymer processing industries.
WattsOK? Robotics and AI Enabled Reuse of PV
WattsOK? optimizes reuse/recycle decisions for used photovoltaic (PV) modules via automation, incl. optical inspection-based decision-AI, electrical measurements, and robotic PV connector exchange for reuse. With this, the project addresses the expected increase in used PV modules. The project aims to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of reuse/recycling decision processes, extending the lifetime of modules through reuse, reducing waste, and promoting a circular economy within the photovoltaic sector.
