SEEDS – Security Education by Empowering Democratic Strength
Security in Austria encompasses not only protection against crime and external threats but also the defence of democratic values and education. The SEEDS project aims to support democratic education by analysing students' knowledge and interest in security policy issues and developing solutions to promote a resilient understanding of democracy.
SELF²B - self-aware, self-diagnosing buildings, HVAC, and PV systems for the next generation of energy efficient operations
SELF²B develops and demonstrates an AI-based, self-learning, and self-diagnosing fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) solution for HVAC and PV systems in two buildings in Vienna. The innovation surpasses the current state of the art by combining semantic data, ontologies, and machine learning. The goal is to achieve energy savings and efficiency improvements in building operations and to make the technology widely applicable.
SEMB -Security agains electromagnetic threats of critical infrastructures
The study SEMB (Security against electromagnetic threats of critical infrastructures) on electromagnetic threats was conducted in line with the Austrian Programme for Critical Infrastructure Protection APCIP to protect national critical infrastructures. The focus of the study was set on threats of electronic and electric components
SERECARB - SElective REcovery of Calcium CARBonate in paper sludge (SUSPRISE Joint Call)
Developing a new process based on selective recovery of calcium carbonate from paper mill effluents and sludge, purification, conversion into precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) and reuse as filler in paper making.
SERMER - Sensors for the Remote Monitoring of Experimental Reactors
The R&D activities within SERMER deal with the hardware of the viscosity sensor prototype, the readout, and the interpretation of the sensor signals with respect to the ongoing processes within the experiment to be monitored.
SEWAT - Real-time parameters for microbiological and chemo-physical water quality monitoring in mobile drinking water treatment systems
The SEWAT project develops and tests modern methods for assessing treatmentefficiency in mobile drinking water treatment systems for military and civilian crisisand disaster operations
SFI@SFU
In order to make even improved use of the forward-looking KIRAS framework and to further develop it based on research, an Austrian Center for Comprehensive Security Research will be developed
SGIS - Spaceborne GNSS-Receiver Interference Suppression
The SGIS project started with the analysis of future on-board and terrestrial interference scenarios, the analysis and identification of interference suppression techniques suitable for implementation with space technology, and the isolation of candidate solutions.
SG² – Smart Grid Security Guidance
The project investigates and develops methods, concepts and process models as well as software tools to minimise the risk posed by ICT threats, and to ensure the security of smart grids in Austria
SHIFT - Secure simulation technologies for cyber-physical systems
The objective of SHIFT is to develop a realistic, secure simulation environment for cyber-physical systems (CPS).
SHyRE - Sulfuric acid and hydrogen production for the electronics industry through innovative recycling
In SHyRE, an innovative process for sulfuric acid recycling is being developed. The aim is to efficiently produce high-purity sulfuric acid and hydrogen by combining novel decomposition processes with electrochemical methods.
SI-ALT
Police and Age: Fostering the subjective sense of security of older and very old citizens in public space
SIECAMS BOX - Carrier Monitoring System for Small Operators
The aim of the project is the integration of general-purpose PCI sample cards in SIECAMS for supporting standard spectrum monitoring and demodulation measurement tasks on a highly competitive level in terms of performance and price as well as a reduction of the required equipment space. Furthermore, it is the aim to provide a generic interface to import digitized data of different resolution and sampling rates in order to support standard digitization equipment from different manufacturers. The current SIECAMS Client Server architecture will be enhanced by an additional Web-Server hosting the web-application.
SILBOS
Countermeasures to ensure air security for authorities and emergency and rescue organizations
SIMPLE AD Evaluator - S.I.M.P.L.E. Sustainable Integration Modeling and Predictive Leveraging Evaluator
The SIMPLE AD Evaluator fills an existing gap in sustainable local planning by providing a low-threshold and collaborative evaluation tool for early planning phases. By linking questionnaires with System Dynamics models, the tool delivers well-founded decision-making foundations and customized sustainability checklists. This supports municipalities, project developers, and decision-makers in achieving a strategic and cost-efficient sustainable transformation from concept to implementation.
SIMULTAN - Simultaneous planning environment for buildings in resilient, highly energy efficient and resource-efficient districts
This project enabled the opportunity for an essential energy efficiency increase within overlapping buildings, to achieve the objective of resilient cities and districts with respect to a high quality of life, resource sustainability and energy efficiency. The goal was a workable tool based on a multidisciplinary planning approach, to support the decision finding process in order to design both refurbishment projects and new developments within a highly efficient city.
SINUS: Sensor Integration for Urban Risk Prediction
The SINUS project explored the integration of mobile sensor technologies and urban data to predict traffic risks for cyclists and pedestrians. A model developed using data from Salzburg provides risk assessments and is complemented by a Smart-City dashboard and a smartphone app. Evaluation showed that acoustic warnings offer the best visibility and enhance users' situational awareness.
SKILL
The project SKILL was a "Cooperative R&D project" including research, development and implementation of accompanying studies of a reusable delivery system of ballistic compounds
