ESSBAR – Edible balcony gardens for retrofit – Vertical Greening Technologies for the City
Demonstration of an affordable, resource-saving and innovative balcony system with integrated edible vertical gardens and rainwater management. Considering the needs of residents for green outdoor spaces and the active participation of residents are an important part of the project.
EVE – Efficient right of way for emergency vehicles in automated traffic Synopsis Englisch
EVE analyses possibilities to provide automated right of way for emergency vehicles in cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS), based on communicating with traffic signal systems or other vehicles. Security issues play a major role in this scenario.
EVES
Evaluation system for the optimization of evacuation scenarios and intervention strat-egies of emergency services
EVIDENZ - Efficient Processing of Digital Evidence
The EVIDENZ project – funded as part of the K-PASS 2023 call for cooperative R&D projects – develops innovative, AI-supported methods for the efficient analysis, minimization, and validation of large multimodal datasets. It combines technical advancements in data processing with a continuous analysis of legal, ethical, and social implications to ensure practical and legally compliant solutions.
EVIVA
Monitoring of crisis situations and event protection based on airborne systems and video behavior analysis
EWV4EnergyTransition - Concrete Contributions to the Urban Energy Transition Using the Example of Properties Owned by the Evangelischer Waisenversorgungsverein Wien
The project addresses key challenges in expanding renewable energy and establishing renewable energy communities within densely built urban areas. The aim is to clearly identify these challenges first and subsequently develop effective solutions through an inclusive and gender-sensitive communication strategy.
EXPEDiTE - Exploring opportunities and challenges for Emerging personal DaTa Ecosystems: Empowering humans in the age of the GDPR - A Roadmap for Austria
Personal data have become a primary economic resource in our increasingly digital society and many Internet users are unaware of the extent to which their data can be traced back to them online. The European Union passed the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in 2018 with the aim of enabling more human-centred governance and defining more explicit rules for the handling of personal data in the business sector. This represents a first step towards a fair and human-centred market for personal data in Europe.
E_PROFIL - neighborhood profiles for optimized energy transformation processes
E_PROFIL is a set of methods (an IT-supported toolkit) for the elaboration of neighbourhood profiles. The aim of the project is to facilitate an energy and resource efficient development in the planning practice of Austrian cities. Furthermore, the project is an important asset for research and planning activities in Europe and can also be applied to other neighbourhoods.
Earth movement: Clay - a climate- and resource-friendly building material
Manufacturing processes and transport of building materials are energy-intensive and cause high CO2emissions. In addition, many building materials pose a health and disposal problem due to their content of disruptive and harmful substances. Locally available clay can replace conventional materials if appropriately prepared and processed, and helps to save both manufacturing processes and transport routes.
Earthen building 2.0: Earthen building of the future - The art of craftsmanship based on engineering approaches
The exploratory project investigated the suitability of fiber optic sensors for the long-term monitoring of the deformation behavior of rammed earth wall elements under moisture and temperature fluctuations (shrinkage) as well as loads (creep). The experimental findings will be integrated into a finite element model to simulate failure behavior under load.
EasyCell - Design optimization of PEM fuel cells for reducing auxilliaries and simplificating the material-management to facilitate the mass production
EasyCell - A common use of PEM fuel cells is not yet established. It is the aim of this project to optimize the design of PEM fuel cells (minimization of peripheral units, simplified handling of gases and the right design for mass production) to ease a widespread use of PEM fuel cells.
Eco-Checkers - An exhibition of ZOOM Children's Museum
Main results of "Building of Tomorrow" are edited for the target group "children and teenagers". The result is an attractive exposition in the "ZOOM Kindermuseum".
Eco-efficient Product Service Systems
Step by step methodology for the development of future markets by the introduction of eco-efficient product service systems
Eco-textiles - from the eco-niche into the trend market!
Optimum communication strategies and motives for the purchase of eco-textiles by specific target groups are investigated. The results are reviewed with respect to the transferability to other branches of sustainable production and marketing. Aim of the project is to foster the supply of eco-textile products and thereby promoting the Austrian eco-textile producers and retailers.
Eco.District.Heat - Potentials and restrictions of grid-bound heating systems of urban areas
Aim of the project Eco.District.Heat is to provide strategic decision-making support that enables Austrian towns and cities to deal with aspects of grid-bound heating (and cooling) systems in accordance with integrated spatial and energy planning from a holistic perspective when elaborating urban energy concepts.
Ecoleasing for technical commodity goods - Models of use on the example of abrasives
The aim of the project is, to come to general expressions on one hand of the market potential and on the other hand of the restrictions for ecoleasing in the field of technical commodity goods. Within the project an evaluation on the relevance of ecoleasing for the sustainable development will also be done.
Ecological and Social Efficiency Index - EASEY X
Basing on a model and indicators for valuing sustainability of companies quoted at the prime market of the Vienna stock exchange methods and instruments have been developed to analyse their performance. By the connecting step company data have been collected and analysed by four different methods (SPSS, EVA, SVA, MCA Outranking). On a 100 scores scale five companies exceeded barely the mark 70, 6 rank between 60 and 69 further 5 between 52 and 59. The aim is to launch a sustainability EASEY index 2004 or beginning 2005.
Ecological restoration of a listed building with passive house technologies
Ecological exemplary reconstruction of the "Haidenhof"-building, Bad Ischl, Upper Austria. Building refurbishment with respect to monumental protection and newest passive house technologies. Reorganisation of the former residential building to an academy of arts and culture.
Ecologically friendly resin impregnation of rotating machines with the use of the joule effect
Windings of rotating machines or electrical generators (e. g. wind and water power generators) are impregnated with resin. A new technology using the heating effect of current is investigated. The high efficiency of heating with the joule effect results in quick heating of stator leading to fast gelling of the resin, which implies low emission.
Economic chances of biogas supply for gas fuel stations in regions, which are not connected to the natural gas grid.
Examination of the economy of biogas supply for gas fuel stations in regions, which are not connected to the natural gas grid. Development of an economically attractive, technologically and cost-optimized biogas utility system for gas stations without connection to the natural gas grid.
