The ICT of the Future programme focuses on topics in which Austria is particularly strong, such as electronics-based systems, robotics, automated driving, trustworthy Internet of Things, big data, and artificial intelligence. The European Next Generation Internet (NGI) Initiative led to the interactive process for the NGI Scenario Report - The Internet for People 2040 in Austria. Participating experts from a broad spectrum of disciplines thus laid the foundation for the calls that are presented in this brochure.

Fly the Green Deal - Europe’s Vision for Sustainable Aviation
The European Commission's strategy paper presented in June 2022 formulates the European vision for research, technology and innovation of the European aviation sector until 2050. New challenges made it necessary to replace the Flightpath 2050 and paved the way for this new vision, which describes the transition from the era of growth to an era of transformation of aviation. This new vision, developed with aviation experts from Europe's nation states, emphasizes research and innovation, as well as the market acceptance and regulatory framework.

IEA 4E Product Energy Efficiency Trends (PEET) Project – 4 Reports
The Product Energy Efficiency Trends (PEET) project aims to monitor the energy efficiency of selected product groups in the 4E member countries and regions, to provide information on progress from year to year. The latest PEET reports published in 2022 summarize the state of energy efficiency regulations for four product groups. These are: electric motors, room air conditioners, televisions and monitors, and household refrigerators.

Energy R&D 2020: Public Expenditures in Austria
In 2020, about 1,000 projects and activities for publicly funded energy-related research, development and first-of-a-kind demonstration amounted to 155.2 million euros. As in previous years, the area of "energy-efficient end-use technologies" is in first place with expenditures of 76.8 million euros. The areas "smart grids and storage", "renewable energy" and "cross-cutting issues" follow by a comparatively wide margin.
