AGreeNew - New biobased products of the agricultural biorefinery
AGreeNew aims to expand the product portfolio of the agricultural biorefinery. Sour whey, farm manure and green silage will be used as raw materials to produce biosurfactants, fertilizers and protein-rich animal feed. The production processes of these valuable products will be assessed in terms of sustainability and economic potential.
AI-driven decontamination technologies for repurpose/recycle to meet food-contact regulations using light (Light-AIClean)
The project aims to develop a chemometrics-assisted decontamination (DC) process for waste plastic with AI-driven quality control and a renewable energy-based DC technology. By utilizing visible light and a reusable catalytic system, it seeks to replace resource-intensive methods like hot water washing and gamma irradiation. AI techniques, including neural networks and reinforcement learning, will optimize efficiency, reducing resource use. The process will be tested in a photoreactor and automated DC setup, benefiting the recycling industry, AI developers, and environmental sustainability while promoting circular economy principles.
AI4FM - Artificial Intelligence for Facility Management
AI-based anomaly and fault detection in buildings. Digital twins of buildings with simulation models for testing and optimizing rule-based fault detection methods. Mining of the recorded time-series data from existing Building Management Systems to train Machine Learning models for fault detection.
AIA4ALL - development of open, modular and automatable employer’s information requirements (EIR) and BIM execution plan (BEP)
The Employer's Information Requirements - EIR (German: AIA) - serves the client to define goals and use cases for a BIM-based construction project. The aim of this project is to create a modular, machine-readable AIA that can be seamlessly integrated into the tool landscape of openBIM projects. This is done by developing an open platform for creating use cases for the AIA.
AIRlabs Austria - Aeronautical Innovation & Research Laboratories Austria
The BMK innovation lab AIRlabs Austria plans to establish and operate a multisite test infrastructure to support research, development, validation and integration UAS. With a total of 25 consortium partners from the fields of users, industrial companies and research institutions, the necessary test enablers for UAS will be provided along all TRLs and along the innovation path. Even though the focus of the innovation lab is on airspaces, ground-based infrastructures are also part of AIRlabs Austria's offering. The advantages of Austria's location (e.g. (high) alpine areas) as well as the interests of domestic industry and scientific partners are taken into account.
APOSEMA - Exhale and detect diseases early on
Some diseases manifest themselves at a very early stage through changes in tidal air. A new method promises to pinpoint these gaseous substances.
APPP
Advanced Precise Point Positioning for mass market GNSS receivers on Android devices
Abwärme_4_Kapfenberg - 100 % industrielle Abwärmeauskopplung Kapfenberg
The project aims to explore the feasibility of maximizing industrial waste heat extraction into the district heating system of the municipality of Kapfenberg to foster the defossilization path.
ActiveAdvice - Decision Support for Independent Living
The project ActiveAdvice develops an advice and decision support network across Europe using an intelligent Ambient Assisted Living (AAL)-Product & Service Cloud.
Altmünster 2040
The municipality of Altmuenster, one of the first Climate Alliance municipalities in Upper Austria and a long-standing member of the Climate and Energy Model Region Traunsteinregion (KEM), wants to develop a municipal climate strategy with clear options for action.
AnergieLeichtGemacht - Development of Scalable Implementation Models for Geothermal Anergy Networks to Decarbonize the Building Sector
The project develops standardized technical, organizational, and financial implementation models for anergy networks to enable sustainable heating solutions in cities and municipalities. By identifying suitable settlement typologies, analyzing existing framework conditions, and engaging stakeholders, scalable solutions are created. The goal is to reduce planning and implementation barriers and facilitate investments in local anergy networks.
Anergy2Plus - Demonstration and expansion of an anergy network as part of a holistic energy concept and plus energy quarter
The overall objective of the project is to pursue and demonstrate a holistic approach to the design, construction and ultimately the use of the residential quarter in the context of energy supply. Especially in the area of thermal energy supply, a project with lighthouse character on the way to a plus-energy quarter is to be created by demonstrating the innovative supply concept based on an anergy network.
AttentiveMachines – Man and Machines in ICT based Production Systems of the Future
Sensitive Machines cooperate with Plant Personnel. Attention-aware Machines adapt to the human’s performance and constitute the production systems of the future.
AustroSIF
Early stress detection in Austrian ecosystems with sun-induced chlorophyll fluorescence
Autology - the automated ontology generator
Ontologies form the basis for the acquisition, analysis/processing, utilization, documentation, and archiving of building and component data throughout all stages of the lifecycle. Currently, the semantic description and structuring of data can only be achieved with significant manual effort. At this point, the Autology project utilizes Artificial Intelligence. The overarching project objective is the automated extraction and generation of metadata for the creation of ontologies from the building automation system, employing innovative AI-based approaches.
Aviation Icing Tests IV - Cloud Generation for Realistic Icing Tests on Aircraft Components, With and Without De-Icing or Anti-Icing Facilities
this research project will examine consequent research topics with a focus on increasing the LWC (Liquid Water Content) for Appendix C as well as the distribution and reduction of the LWC for Supercooled Large Drops (SLD). It is building on research projects Aviation Icing Tests, Aviation Icing Tests II and Aviation Icing Tests III that have already been carried out.
