AIA4ALL - development of open, modular and automatable employer’s information requirements (EIR) and BIM execution plan (BEP)

The Employer's Information Requirements - EIR (German: AIA) - serves the client to define goals and use cases for a BIM-based construction project. The aim of this project was to create a modular, machine-readable AIA that can be seamlessly integrated into the tool landscape of openBIM projects. An open platform for creating use cases for the AIA was developed.

AMAzE 2.0 – Digital building application submission with a focus on greening of buildings and land, and the degree of soil sealing

AMAzE 2.0 developed a prototype workflow for digital planning applications and subsequent monitoring, with a focus on green spaces and land sealing. By integrating GIS, BIM and AI-supported remote sensing analyses, heterogeneous data was converted into consistent digital models, thereby creating a basis for automated review processes. The project thus supports efficient planning approval procedures and sustainable urban development.

ARIS - Application of non-linear control engineering and implementation of intelligent sensor systems for the improvements of energy efficiency in the building sector

The major goal of the project was the development of innovative control concepts for controlling and optimizing heating, cooling and ventilation systems (HVAC) as well as building loads. The implementation of advanced, energy efficient non-linear control techniques in building management systems is supported by new sensor technologies that are applied to building and energy systems in order to improve their energy-efficient operation.

An innovative approach for facades with optimised noise protection and natural ventilation

The aim of this project was to advance the state of the art in the engineering of double-leaf building facades that facilitate natural ventilation while providing sufficient sound insulation. Realization of natural (window) ventilation is in some instances difficult due to a number of factors. Thereby, noise pollution (especially traffic noise) plays an important role. To address these issues, the project explored innovative solutions in terms of facade constructions for concurrent natural ventilation and noise control.

Analysis of the high-quality wooden facade in extreme climates

The project "Alpine base Schiestlhaus on the Hochschwab, which was opened in 2005, represents a lighthouse project for the "House of the Future" programme as the 1st shelter in zero-energy house quality. After more than 15 years in operation, however, damages came to light. Within the framework of this project, analysis activities were carried out on the cause of damage as well as the development of new facade structures.
