Flucco+ - Flexible user comfort in quarter-hourly CO2-neutral Positive Energy Districts (PED)

The aim of the project is to improve the planning basis for the construction and operation of energy flexible buildings in three specific areas. First the further development of existing models of thermal comfort for dynamic situations, second the quantification of future energy grid usefulness and third the holistic testing of the developed comfort and CO2 model at three potential positive energy districts (PED), taking into account the ecological assessment as well as the life cycle costs.

FluccoSan - Circular energy flexibility for resilient, climate-neutral refurbishments

FluccoSan aims to develop innovative and cost-effective refurbishment solutions for the building sector that contribute to achieving the Austrian federal government's climate targets. The focus is on energy-efficient, minimally invasive and socially acceptable measures, so-called “dynamic renovations”. By integrating the circular economy and social science research, these solutions should ensure long-term sustainability and a high level of acceptance among users. Status: ongoing

Formation of an Austrian EPD-Platform for building products

The objective of the project at hand was to create the general program guidelines for the "Austrian EPD-platform for building products": basic guidelines, general guidelines for LCA, general guideline for determination of emissions to indoor air and environment during operation phase.

Haus der Zukunft

From courtyards to lightyards

The feasibility of daylight-optimized solutions for retrofitting courtyards by an intelligent alignment of different materials has been examined. With it, daylighting levels in lower floors can realistically be increased tenfold. Additionally, a calculation tool for generating and evaluating optimal courtyard solutions was designed. Besides daylighting parameters also economic criteria were considered.

Haus der Zukunft

Fundamentals on the development of ecological high class insulation composites made from natural plant fibres

Fundamentals on an insulation made from flax and hemp fibres which can be directly pargeted on the outer wall of a building had been developed. Only ecological glues and additives were used. Variations of the production and the additives optimized the technical properties. In addition flame proofing and thermal transfer were tested. After the laboratory tests a prototype finished the project.
